Thank you for responding to our survey about the provision of care for Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer patients and survivors across the EU.
Cancer remains a major public health challenge in Europe, with incidence and mortality rates continuing to rise. In response, the European Commission has placed cancer high on the policy agenda through initiatives such as Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, a flagship of the European Health Union, and the EU Cancer Mission. These efforts reflect a strong political commitment to prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and improving quality of life for patients and survivors. Both initiatives recognise the unique needs of vulnerable groups, including AYAs, who face distinct clinical and psychosocial challenges that require tailored, multidisciplinary care.
This survey is being conducted by ICF at the request of the European Commission as part of a study aimed at developing an evidence-based model of quality AYA cancer care and mapping national provision of AYA cancer care across the EU. The findings will inform EU-wide and country-specific recommendations to drive policy change and improve outcomes for AYA patients, survivors, and society as a whole.
For more information on this study, please see the Endorsement Letter from the European Commission, Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety.
